I figured I'd share this very short video directly from the French Ministry of Defense of a "shock" test that was conducted a few days ago. For obvious reasons this kind of test is not done every year, nor every decade (last one was in 1995 I believe). What does it entails? Well, you take a big live naval mine and make it explode in close proximity of a warship to test its structural resistance, not close enough to actually damage the warship but close enough to give it a good shake and put the structure under stress. If the ship happens to sink at that point, obviously it really failed. XD

I can only imagine how impressive it was for the crew... even the Captain was a bit worried, you can read it on his face at the beginning of the video. Just running into an exploding mine is not something one generally does willingly.

The funny part is that the galley seems to have suffered the worst consequences of this little test. Oh, no... not the food! I guess the test was a failure then. All French warships should have food secured at all time! Those baguettes must have had the fear of their life, just before the crew ended up eating them anyway.🤣

The ship involved was the Courbet, a frigate of the Lafayette class. There are very few words said so there's no need for a translation.

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."
And the only thing necessary for morons to triumph in our world
Is for the rest of us to naively believe that they are capable of getting better.
