Bethesda is very self-conscious... Who knew?

I don't know if it's just someone at Bethesda having a sense of dark humor, but look at the back of any slate (what we would call "tablet") in Starfield (which normally no one would do because what could be interesting on the back, right?) :

You cannot view this attachment.

Yep, that must be Bethesda version of "No future". So they actually do know where they are going, and it's certainly not "forward".

🤣🤣🤣

And yes, this is actually in-game screenshot, not modified.

Bethesda's Philosophy In A Nutshell: 2 steps forward, no steps back! Hey, wait, we're walking backwards here...why are we walking backwards? No! We're not walking backwards, it's YOU, the so-called "fans", who are walking backwards! If anything, we're moving forwards at a speed incomprehensible to you hate-filled little monkeys!

The Future (circa 2037): Launch TESVI. Load a game. Open the console; ignore the "sOMe CoNsOLe COmmaNDs wILl dISAble AchiEVEMenTs" message. Type "player.additem 0000000a 100". Hit enter. Oh, look...you just gave yourself a hundred lockpicks. Good to see *some* things never change. ::)
Some things never change, no don't ever change

Something hit me the other day. Bethesda should really hire a guy to tell them when some aspect of the game design will not fly. For example: "7 fucking seconds of animations just to see your guy sitting in the cockpit before you can even fly the ship? 7 more to see them standing up? 14 seconds for a full cycle that can be repeated a few hundred times in a single playthrough? Are you mad? Do you really think that gamers have 2 hours of their life to waste on that shit? Get rid of it!" Not that I have something specifically against the animations, except for their insane length, but how about letting the player use a button to skip them? Would that be really that hard? And don't even get me started on ladders, or hatches...

Oh wait, they already *do* have a guy that his supposed to tell them that kind of stuff. How is it going Todd? Not too tired by the job I assume?

One thing for sure, Bethesda do love their botched and over-complicated animations. What's with all the people that, when you try to address them for serious reasons, like completing a quest, spend 10 seconds still walking, one step at a time, in complete silence, before finally turning to address you. Sometimes worse, they do look at you like if they wanted to engage in conversation with you but for some reason they still continue to go the opposite way for a while... Creepy! That also happened in Fallout 4.

Talking about discussions, how about all those people who keep addressing you with "I don't want to talk" or "If you continue to talk to me we're going to have a problem" while you're just passing by with absolutely zero intention to talk to them? You know what is the most fantastic command in the console? "Disable". Yep I erased from existence most of the security personnel in Neon last time I played Starfield so annoying they were. Best of all, they just disappear, no crime registered. I could shoot them in the face with total satisfaction but then there would be all kind of trouble. Definitely Starfield (also apply to Fallout 4 and even Skyrim) was not designed with European consumers in mind. When we walk in the street we never address people we don't know without a real reason and we don't like to be addressed by people we don't know without a real reason. Simple rule to follow. You may feel free to break it but don't be surprised if people look at you like if you were a weirdo.

Again Todd, where are you when all this crap happens in your games? Are you still the game director or are you just showing up and putting hours for your yearly bonus?
