No one is left behind...

[Starfox]

It's in French but with full English subtitles. it happened in 2019 in Mali. Crazy story about what happens when you don't want to leave anyone behind. the story was made available to the French public after its declassification by the French authorities a year after the facts. But I'm pretty sure it largely remained on a French level. An active duty US Marine reacted to it on YT (you can find it here if you're interested in an American military POV) but other than that I don't think it's a story that is really famous outside of France. Which is sad because you'd expect that kind of stuff from Hollywood, not from actual military.

What I will add to this video, because when the documentary was done, the sad event had yet to pass, The Corporal (posthumously promoted to Sergeant) Maxime Blasco (identified just as Max in the video), was KIA in September 2021 while on mission, still in Mali.
