So... System Shock anyone?

Who will be tackling with the System Shock remake (not a remaster, not an Enhanced Edition, a true proper remake)., now that gold status has been confirmed?

Tried out the demo. isn't bad actually, except that I'm not entirely on board with the design decision of "pixelizing" parts of the screen to feel more "old school". This is a demo though, so maybe they removed that from the final...

Guess what it means!

Mmm, probably not I.  I've always preferred System Shock 2 for the fact that the setting actually resembles a real place.  You don't have to tell me I'm on, say, the medical deck, since I can tell from my surroundings.  System Shock, on the other hand, has always struck me as more abstract.  It would be fine if the whole thing were taking place in cyberspace, but when it's supposed to be a convincing space station...

So they actually finished the thing...I never thought it would happen.

I may very well give it a spin, since I've never played the original (even though I have the enhanced version via GOG, I've never been inclined to play it); plus, you get a free copy of SS2 Enhanced when it comes out.

...wait, what?

Oh, bad feeling. Not a full-body remake of SS2, just "enhanced"? Ugh...

Anyway, yeah. I'll try it out. Most likely. Probably.

Grumble...I'd rather have a remake of SS2 with the Brosiuses involved, but noooooooo. This is fine. ::)

The KOTOR remake's future indefinite...Bloodlines 2 dead in the water...DA Dread Wolf pushed back to 2024...okay, never mind me.

Me too actually because I prefer SS2. But hey, one has to start small. It's already astounding that they actually managed to finish the thing. 4 years ago, I never thought they'd pulled it off.

Although, we'd better keep our hopes and expectations at a normal level until we've seen the full thing. Too many failed experiments and bad disappointments across my gamer life.

Which would logically bring us to the subject of Redfall and the many, many "?" surrounding Starfield right now (I mean even optimistic Bethesda games die hard fans are getting worried -- Gopher is getting worried, that means something ;D ) but that will be a subject for another time...

And I'm sure you forgot some :D

What struck me the most while watching the first 20 minutes was how much I want a System Shock game set in an urban locale, y'know?  Not a space station, or a starship, just a cyberpunk cityscape.  I literally reinstalled System Shock 2 just to walk around and explore the opening prologue afterwards.
