Snow is back in Normandy! Yay! 😄

It's been quite a while since I've seen such an amount. Say... at least 5-6 years. And it's only the beginning. It will continue to snow through the afternoon so I expect a nice white thick blanket by tonight. Tomorrow will be crap though since the snow will be mixed with rain. Oh well, at least for today, I'll consider it an early taste of Christmas.

🎅🎄❄️☃️

Why am I so excited? Well, let me tell you guys, when you live in a part or the world where it rains nearly 250 days per year, snow is a welcome change. I understand, It might not be as exciting if I lived in say... Greenland but it's Normandy we're talking about! XD

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."
And the only thing necessary for morons to triumph in our world
Is for the rest of us to naively believe that they are capable of getting better.

Silver Sorrow

We had to wait until January for our first real snowfall. Which was today, actually.

We get maybe two bouts of snow at best; it's a little late this year (since it was hot well into October), but...well. The idea, as I understand it, is to experience all of the snow normal places get, but in one huge frosty dump (there's a metaphor in there, but I'm not touching it without gloves). And as much as I dislike snow, it's much preferable to the ice storm a couple of years ago.

A couple of things to note:

- It snowed all day, but gently. This is why there's not a whole lot of it.
- My neighbor has never figured out how to park his van in his driveway. That's okay, since he's a genuinely nice person.
- The white plastic fence on the left is not part of my aesthetic. Blame the old bat who lived next door 20 years ago.
- It's supposed to snow until noon tomorrow. Then the temps are supposed to climb the next day into the 40's (Fahrenheit, kids) and on into the 50's next week.
- The thing I miss the most about network TV -- I have YouTube, why bother?? -- was watching the ubiquitous spicy-hot Latina weather girl (sorry...Distaff Meteorologist) until such time as she got pregnant and was replaced by another Latina woman. And then she'd do the job until she became pregnant, and so on. Thus the cycle continued and was neverending. Sure, once in a while they'd throw an Asian in there, maybe a blonde, but each one's weather career always ended the same way: pregnancy. I wouldn't even bother to commit their names to memory, as they'd be gone within a year. Hey, that's probably the answer to infertility problems right there.
- What the hell does any of that have to do with snow?
- Shut up. You babbled on like a moron about snow and I didn't criticize YOU, did I?
- Why are you being so mean to me?
- Uh...don't look now, but people are watching. Can we pick this up later?
- Whoops. Sorry, folks!

Also take note that, at the moment, there is no wind sweepin' down the plain, no wheat...sweet-smellin' or otherwise...and any hawks dumb enough to make lazy circles in the sky at this time of year have frozen solid in mid-air. So yeah, we're doin' fine Oklahoma. O! K! L! A! SHUT THE DOOR DUMBASS I'M NOT GONNA HEAT THE WHOLE DAMN NEIGHBORHOOD!
Some things never change, no don't ever change
And I'm feeling the cold
Thinking that we're getting older and wiser
When we're just getting old
